It only ended 90 minutes ago, but feels like it was weeks ago already. And I have to say, despite ALL the worries I had about it, it was an absolutely amazing experience.
My first ever convention, my first time ever doing a panel and hell, it was even my first time meeting other people who were interested in the fandom! Despite a shaky start at the beginning of the first day, since I was pretty overwhelmed by everything that was going on, overall I think I didn't do too bad!
I finally got to meet the guys of EQD in person, in particular, calpain, who I first met on KnowYourMeme all the way back in 2012; that was pretty fucking cool!
And I met some wonderful people who were a fan of my comics here. It's both incredible and awkward when someone, in person, tells you how much they appreciate what you make, and hell, some even said that I was an inspiration to their work that they create now, some even wanted autographs; I can't even begin to describe how meaningful and awesome that is in person. :')
Hell, everyone at the convention was just so down-to-earth and kind; HELL, WE RAISED, LIKE, €30'000 EURO IN THE CHARITY AUCTIONS THERE!
And of course, my first time doing a panel. Despite the inconsistencies in the brochure/website timetable, there was a much bigger turnout than I was expecting! For a first timer, I think it didn't go too badly, but I've learned many ways to better manage my time and what to do during the panel. (The panel of the wonderful Tabitha St. Germain and a stellar cast who did a lil' something special went on a little bit longer than originally anticipated, which bit into my own panel time, but man, was it worth it!) It's a starting point, and hopefully if I do more panels in the future, I'll improve at doing them!
So now, as Acesential so eloquently put, I'm in the Post Con Depression state. BUT ON THE FLIP SIDE It makes me really, REALLY, wanna hit up BUCK 2016, as well as basically EVERY CONVENTION EVER.
Flying home tomorrow afternoon, and by Tuesday morning, things should slowly return to normal, making more comics and whatnot for you awesome people.
