Well earlier you described yourself as an 'Adept gamer', is the use of these words just a way to escape be labelled as a 'Pro Gamer' as most of them are assholes? The FPS Genre is lazy on Games Consoles, but I do enjoy FPS on a Computer, Crossfire is a great example of this, a simple, fun, FPS game that is free to play.
Yes. I'm an adept gamer! (Though school likes ruining that...)
As for games, I'm usually on TF2 these days, and the greater games I've played this year are the likes of The Walking Dead by Telltale Games and others like the new Deus Ex, there hasn't really been anything special this year.
Genres? I'm not overly worried once they've got the two basics; gameplay and story. Like, I usually DESPISE Point-and-Click games, yet I fell in love with Dragon Age: Origins and The Walking Dead due to how incredible the stories were and why that type of genre works. But I'm getting fed up of the First-Person genre, primarily shooters, due to how blatantly uncreative and unimaginative they've become (With the exception of Metro 2033 and Last Light.) The FPS genre desperately needs a revival with another game like Half Life.
Strange, you're pretty much exactly like me. I'm not much of a fan of TF2 though, mainly because I'm bad at it and also because of Spies. As for point and clicks and Shooters, I haven't played a shooter since Metro 2033 (which I was playing yesterday) and I'm not even going near the Walking Dead because I know I'll suck.
I pretty much only play League of Legends nowadays anyway, it eats up most of my time and the rest is filled with cheap games I can pick up on Steam (mostly good stealth games like Blood Money, Deus Ex and Mark of the Ninja.)
